1.       What does Phenomenal Woman mean to you?

A Phenomenal woman means being strong in the face of adversity, compassionate toward others that are less fortunate than yourself, self-love that exudes positivity to everyone you meet and being independent yet vulnerable enough to be loved.

2. What is your brand and how did you get started?

I really don’t necessarily have a brand, but I have been teaching for more than twenty years. My ‘brand” is being a woman of many talents, there is no limit to what I can accomplish when I put my mind to work.

3. What is your dream goal and how do you plan on achieving it?

My goal is to retire and start a consulting service for 1st year teachers. I would like to empower them with the necessary tools to maintain longevity in the field of education. I plan to consult with other retired teachers and write a grant to fund the services.

4. Name a moment that inspired you to feel more confident and inspired you to be comfortable in the skin you are in.

The first time I spoke publicly and shared my story as a “Cancer Survivor” was a moment that inspired me to feel more confident. I was able to discuss the intimate moments of my journey while inspiring others to be strong throughout their own journey.

5. Name a person (dead or alive) that you look up to and why?

My Mom has always been my role model in life. She is the epitome of a phenomenal woman. My Mom taught me the importance of loving and accepting myself who I am at an early age. She instilled morals, values and discipline that helped me to accomplish all of goals that I had set for myself in life. My Mom is the most generous, loving, compassionate person anyone could ever encounter and she is the foundation on which my family was built.

6. When it comes to being a woman, what do you feel should be the three core values that a lady should uphold?

Independence
Respect/Self-worth
Confidence

7. Favorite quote and what it means to you?

It is better to give than to receive. I truly believe the more you give to others the more God gives to you. It doesn’t have to be material things that you are receiving. It can be a good health report, a job promotion, or good news about your children from a teacher etc…. As long as you are given a blessing and you share with others then you will continue to be blessed.

8. Piece of advice that you would give to young girls who aren't confident with themselves?

There is only one of you so LOVE yourself first and foremost. You can be imitated but genetically never duplicated and for that reason alone you should be eternally grateful.
