Phenomenal Woman of the Month: LaTosha Holmes

1. What does Phenomenal Woman mean to you?

A phenomenal woman to me is a goal driven person. Her ambition in life is purposeful and passionate. She is guided by her thoughts and makes her thoughts a reality. A phenomenal woman has imperfections that she doesn’t try to correct but embrace.  Her strength is not only seen, but is felt by whom ever comes in contact with her. She pours in to others while still pushing herself to greatness. A phenomenal always lives her truth with no regrets.

2. What is your brand and how did you get started?

I am my own brand. My brand was first developed when I was a cheerleader in the 11th grade. I learned that I was a leader, speaker, and motivator. I being at an early age inspiring girls and pushing them beyond their current circumstances. My brand continues to carry over from high school to my professional career as a nurse and nurse practitioner. Now that I’m older and wiser I build an entire platform around women empowerment called PUSH Foundation, Inc. The foundation is focused on shedding light on the minority women in Galveston County and increasing awareness on building women unity.

3.What is your dream goal and how do you plan on achieving
I’m not much of a dreamer, but a doer.  I mostly set goals with a time frame attached, which keeps me very busy at times.  My biggest goal/mission is to own and operate my own pediatric practice. Over the last several weeks I have poured my time and energy to bring this goal to life by the end of this year. I set goals then crush them. I want the legacy not just the success.

4. Name a moment that inspired you to feel more confident and inspired you to be comfortable in the skin you are in.

The moment that inspired me not to give up on life and have more confidence in myself is when I decided to embrace my flaws and tell my story to the world. Me inspiring other women keeps me pushing though life struggles.

5. Name a person (dead or alive) that you look up to and why?

The two people I look up to are my parents. My parents instilled in me my core values of loving yourself and respecting others. I view my parents as hard workers and goal setters. My business mindset came from my father. My mother gave me my loving spirit and motivating attitude. I am a phenomenal woman today because of them.

6. When it comes to being a woman, what do you feel should be the three core values that a lady should uphold?

The 3 core values every women should uphold is:

Self/Identity
Values/Standards
Purpose/Vision

7. Favorite quote and what it means to you?

Love, Peace, and Happiness

LoveWhen a person truly loves themselves despite what life have throw at them; they are able to love others without force. Without love we stop pushing and fighting for others as well as ourselves.  I believe love should be the new normal for this upcoming era.

Peace- Peace is needed for progression and balance. A peaceful mindset can elevate passed any circumstance.

Happiness- True happiness is found within yourself. Once a person finds true happiness in them-selves, life’sstruggles becomes life’s triumphs.

8. Piece of advice that you would give to young girls who aren't confident with themselves?

Majority of young girls have low self-esteem due to them struggling with their identity.  I feel a contributing factor to their low self-confidence is related to their home environment. I would like to pour in to young girls the meaning behind purposeful living while helping them build a stronger mindset. I would also like to instill in them life lessons as it relates to healthier living and self-love.
