Self-Love

Self-love is very evident. It's something that is vital for anyone to once they reach a certain point in their life. Being young, you see and feel like you have a lot to measure up to. But many people don't realize what triggers these things and why they feel the need to attach themselves to stigmas that aren't good for them.

Some people get in bad relationships, others involve themselves in activities that could be detrimental to their health and well-being. I feel as if you can't possibly love yourself and still engage in bad habits. You can't love yourself if you feel as if sex is a confirmation of who you are and your worth. You can't love yourself if you deal with someone who not only holds you back mentally & spiritually but also physically and verbally abuses you. You can't love yourself if you don't care for yourself. You can't love yourself if love is something you never use when describing something about you. You can't love yourself if pleasing others is way more important than loving yourself. You can't love yourself if you compare your shortcomings to someone else's accomplishments. You can't love yourself if you view the world in a pessimistic manner. You can't love yourself if you refuse to let go of the hurt. You can't love yourself if you let your past control your future.

You can't love yourself if you let people use you for their own pleasures and not care to know about who you are as a person. You can't love yourself if you refuse to be happy....alone.

Self-love is important. Self-love is vital. Self-love starts with you and ends with you. If you rely on others approval of you, you will spend your life proving yourself only to slowly kill yourself on the inside. Love you. Love your faults. Love your past, present and future. Love who you are as an individual. Love those who love you. Love those who don't love you back. Surround yourself with love and happiness will come to you.
